Seven dev logs in, Phaethon now plays like a world and not a flight demo. This update covers what happens after you land.
Mech combat
Mechs sit between fighters and tanks. They are slower and tougher, and a mech with a player at the controls is one of the best ways to breach a hardened base.
Bases and the economy
Every structure pulls from a shared resource network. Ore flows from extractors through haulers to refineries. Break any link and the factories downstream run out of ore. It works as a supply chain, so 32 players can attack each other's economies.
Persistence at scale
The world simulates continuously, and AI factions keep fighting while you are offline. The server can afford that because it manages interest aggressively. It runs full-rate simulation only around players and strategic hotspots, and everything else ticks in coarse aggregate.
